Dear friends, in this last announcement you will find all the relevant informations about the Workshop "Theory of quantum gases and quantum coherence" that will take place in Salerno next June (3-5 June). In particular, you will find the complete scientific program of the workshop plus: * Dates and location of the workshop: address, telephone, fax, etc. * Travel infos and tips * Dates of arrival and departure * Hotel accomodation * Up to date situation for travel reimbursements * Proceedings of the Workshop: Call for papers to appear in a dedicated section of J. Phys. B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics =================================================================== 1) Workshop Dates: The workshop will begin on Sunday June the 3rd at 9.00 am, and will end on Tuesday June the 5th at 7.00 pm. 2) Workshop Site: the workshop will take place in Salerno at the Hotel Jolly, where all participants will also be hosted. We will also take our meals there. The Hotel lies just on the sea side, at the northern end of the Salerno harbor. The address of the Hotel Jolly is the following: Address: Hotel Jolly, Lungomare Trieste 1, 84100 Salerno. Tel.: ++ 39 089 22 52 22. Fax: ++ 39 089 23 75 71. 3) Participants are supposed to arrive in Salerno on Saturday June the 2nd, and to leave from Salerno on Wednesday June the 6th. 4) We have reserved double and single rooms for all participants at the Hotel Jolly for 4 nights, starting from the evening of June the 2nd. Participants are supposed to leave the Hotel in the morning of June the 6th. All special requests concerning special diets, preferred matching in double rooms, single room accomodation, etc. have already been taken care of by the organization. 5) Food and lodging expenses for all participants are covered by the organization, including dinner on June the 2nd. 6) Travel infos and tips: to all the participants (a large majority!) who are arriving in Italy by plane we suggest to book flights as soon as possible to avoid unpleasant complications. We suggest to fly directly to Roma with scheduled arrivals no later than late afternoon on June the 2nd, and then to proceed by train to Salerno. Alternatively, participants can fly to Napoli and then proceed to Salerno by train. Be aware that arriving too late in the evening in Roma or in Napoli will make it very hard to find still a train to Salerno. Please take a look at the train schedules reported in the Deutsche Bahn Website www.bahn.de, which is the best Website around for train informations (also in Italy!!!). The hotel is about 2 Km away from the Salerno main railway station. You can either walk from the station, along the Lungomare (North direction, sea on your left) or, in case of heavy luggages, take a taxi (this will cost you approximately 10 Euros (Dollars)), or a Bus along via Roma (parallel to the Lungomare) in the North direction. 7) Financial situation for travel reimbursements: besides special agreements taken with some senior lecturers well in advance, due to the rather large number of participants and our restricted budget we regret that we will be able to reimburse only few (or even very few) participants for their travel expenses. The priority will of course be given to participants coming from less developed countries. We will be able to assess most precisely the situation directly at the Workshop site (in situ...). 8) Proceedings of the Workshop: We have an agreement with the Editor of Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics, Prof. Keith Burnett, to have the contributions presented at the workshop published in a dedicated section of the Journal. A call for papers will be sent in a short while to all participants, with more detailed infos. Deadline for paper submission: 31-08-2001. For questions and further informations please contact the Editorial Publisher of J. Phys. B, Dr. Nicola Gulley, e-mail: nicola.gulley@iop.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM OF THE WORKSHOP Overview lectures at the beginning of each session will last 40 minutes + 5 minutes for discussion.
