  "THEORY OF QUANTUM GASES AND QUANTUM COHERENCE"

Dear Colleague,

we are presently organizing a Workshop on theoretical aspects of
the physics of quantum gases and of matter-wave coherence.
The Workshop will be held at the University of Salerno (Italy)
next year (June the 3rd through June the 5th).

The intended topics for discussion are

1) Fundamental theoretical aspects of Bose-Einstein
   Condensation at zero and at finite temperature;

2) Theory of trapped, degenerate Fermi gases, and of
   Bose-Fermi mixtures;

3) Atom Optics and Coherence Phenomena in ultracold
   quantum gases.

4) The physics of coherent matter waves applied to
   Quantum Computation, Information, and Measurement.

The Workshop is particularly intended to get together
"young" researchers (at the level of PhD students, Postdocs
and junior research associates) and is aimed to favour
discussions and exchanges between scientists coming from
different areas of physics: Condensed Matter, Quantum Optics
and Quantum Information.

Each session of the Workshop is organized with an "Overview
Talk" by a "senior" scientist expert in the field,
providing a general overview of the subject, followed
by talks of "young" scientists on topics of current research.
There will also be one or two poster sessions.

The preliminary programme and preliminary list of speakers
will be made available in a forthcoming second announcement.

In the meantime we would appreciate if you could be
so kind to spread and/or forward this notice to
anyone who you believe might be interested.

Financial help will be available upon request.
The individual eligibility and the amount of the
financial support will be further specified in
forthcoming messages.
